About Me

My photo
Cathy Ho
I was lucky to have become the most gifted calligrapher Lin Chien Shi's student in the early days, and studied Tai Chi with Julia Lowe, and Li Da Ren whose father was a student of Yang Cheng Fu. Chinese Calligraphy and Tai Chi are both revered and highly respected in China. When you have spent some time in practising these arts, you will notice that they share the same principle that they are based on "Yi" (intention). The movements of brushstrokes and Tai Chi both appear to be balanced, stable, sinking and at the same time, you will find evidence of moving, swift, light and elegant touches which would grace the much needed breathing spaces. Chinese calligraphy and Tai Chi are interconnected and each is a wonderful art in its own right.
